BVCA April Swiss

The BVCA just had its 4th event of the year, and its 3rd tournament at FBC Bryan on April 11th. There was a total of 7 players, and though despite its smaller size, it was a success for us and a good experience for all people involved.

Even though the event was not as large as previous tournaments, we still had some fighting spirit for everyone. One interesting game between Jim Anderau and King Ip Lin proved to be an exciting, chaotic draw, where black had a mass of pawns vs white’s rook in a late middlegame/early endgame situation. Nevertheless, after mutual errors from both sides, Mr. Anderau managed to escape the worse of it, and draw the game.

Timothy Lin and William Plock both tied for 1st place with 3.5/4.0 points, and both received cash prizes! Omer Gunes came in 3rd place with 2.5/4.0 points!

Remember, if more sign up, then we are able to have a larger prize pool for everyone!

We at BVCA want our winners to make the most of the prize pool so we accept registration fees in cash - the preferred method of our members via poll. That way, we can give the winners money immediately upon the ending of the tournament.

We are so grateful to all our players for showing up and exercising good sportsmanship and courtesy , and to FBC Bryan for providing such an amazing, convenient venue for us!

We hope to see everybody at our next event, on May 23rd at FBC Bryan.
